At the age of 15, Philipp had no interest in learning anything about the world – especially not at school.
So he failed miserably, had to repeat several grades and eventually had to drop out of high school altogether. Luckily he then met a teacher who showed him that learning about the world was important and actually endlessly fascinating. Through her he became interested in history and biology for the first time in his life. This initial spark of curiosity changed Philipps life forever.
Philipp now wants to pass on this spark and ignite a passion for knowledge in people all around the world. That’s why he founded Kurzgesagt – in a nutshell which is currently the biggest science channel on YouTube and as of 2021 has sold hundreds of thousands of science-y paper products.
